Using a T. Rex suit can be an exciting experience, but it’s definitely daunting to think about minimizing deflation and optimizing performance. As gathered from several sources, a common issue is suits not staying inflated and running out of battery power. Adding a secondary fan can improve air circulation and keep your suit inflated for much longer periods. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to up the awesomeness of your T. Rex suit.
Start by purchasing an additional fan. You can get it from eBay or find a similar mini fan blower on Amazon. This accessory is essential for maintaining the optimal inflation of your suit throughout the day.
Gather your materials, including dark duct tape or wide black tape along with the standard duct tape. These will be used to secure the new fan and ensure that the modifications to your suit are durable.
Determine the appropriate size for the hole where the new fan will be installed. Measure twice and cut once to ensure that the hole isn't too large. Better start a little smaller and adjust as necessary.
Trace the spot for the new fan on the opposite side of the suit and cut the hole slightly smaller than the fan’s diameter. Symmetry is crucial to maintain the balance and aesthetic of the suit.
Wrap the edge of the hole with tape, preferably electrical tape as it’s more pliable, to prevent tearing and help secure the fan tightly in place.
Use duct tape to secure the back side of the hole. Two kinds of tape may provide extra reinforcement, but a good quality duct tape alone should suffice.
Carefully insert the new fan into the newly created hole, ensuring it fits snugly and is adequately supported by the surrounding tape.
If necessary, trim around the edges and press the tape tightly against the fan body. This step helps in accommodating the lock-ring that will secure the fan.
Twist on the lock-ring to secure the fan. If you experience resistance, revisit step 8 and make any necessary adjustments.
Take a moment to appreciate your enhancement efforts. A well-installed fan means longer-lasting fun without worrying about suit deflation.
Don your enhanced T. Rex suit, take some selfies to capture your success, and enjoy your event with confidence knowing you won’t deflate!
