For what you are talking about I would go the 10'. I go 20 on regular fences with high tensile 5 strand. It will be how the fence looks to cattle and they will not use it as much. You might go 20' with a wood and come back at 10' with steel. I would have a hot wire on the inside about middle ways.

8' spacing on the wood posts, and a t-post between the wood posts.






And, if you really want to do it right, do not set any wood posts in the ground at all. Use steel.

Wood posts begin to rot on day #1.

The treated material now isn't the treated material of years ago. I guess too many idiots were licking or chewing on them and the EPA took the "good stuff" out. They are termite caviar now.
